Tuesday, 20 July 2021 – The National Museum of Western Art in Ueno

Good evening from Tokyo under the fourth time state of emergency.
Day 9.

As I wrote here yesterday, I received my second Pfizer vaccination on 19 July. After more than 24 hours, I haven’t had any of the adverse reactions that my doctor predicted.

It’s terribly hot in Tokyo. Many people were taken to the emergency room for heat stroke. Now it’s midnight, but the room temperature of my study is 30.2 Β°C. I turned on the air conditioner a few minutes ago. There is a typhoon in the south beyond the Japanese archipelago. This typhoon will bring severe heat and rough weather.

Today’s photo is of the National Museum of Western Art in Ueno. This museum has been closed since last autumn for renovation. It will reopen next spring. In the front garden, there are some wonderful sculptures. Three years ago, I posted a lot of photos of these sculptures. I can’t find my posts on Instagram, so here are the results of my Tweeter search. I tweeted the same photos that I posted on Instagram.
