Tuesday, 18 May 2021 – The big and serious bugs in the appointment system for mass vaccination programmes by the Self-Defence Forces

Good evening from Tokyo under the third time state of emergency.
Day 24.

The big and serious bugs in the appointment system for mass vaccination programmes by the Self-Defence Forces, which I wrote about here yesterday, have made top news in Japan today. The whole of the country is in an uproar. The two news media that exposed it and the Defence Minister are in a big fight. Many IT guys are sympathetic to the engineers who had to deliver this system so rapidly for the Self-Defense Forces, but they are also very surprised that such a big and very important system was made running without even basic security checks.

Some cool-headed people say that if war came to us, the Self-Defense Forces, which using like such a low level system in operation, cannot defense this country, so Japan would soon go to ruin. I agree. Basically, it is the same as usual here. In other words, there is a lot of chaos. People need (and I need too) Zen to calm down. Thank Buddha, it’s a country with Zen!

From today about once a week, I’ll start to post charts of the progress of vaccination in Japan. I’ll also post the same charts on my blog.

No official announcement has been made by the Japan Meteorological Agency yet. But I think that the rainy season might have started in Tokyo. Today’s sky was grey. I post photos of the beautiful roses tonight again.

Have a nice dream. Good night.

Wear a mask and wash your hands.
