Monday, 17 May 2021 – The Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition of Belgium

Good evening from Tokyo under the third time state of emergency.
Day 23

The first appointments of the mass vaccination programme by the Self-Defence Forces for the elderly were started today. It was filled immediately after its starting. After that, a huge fatal and serious bug was found in this appointment system, which became a big scandal that shaked the whole country tonight. The Ministry of Defence announced that this enormous and critical bug could not be fixed. On Twitter, people are getting angry, criticising and abusing the Government and the Ministry of Defence. Corona makes people live in Twitter irritable always. Tonight, the vibe on the Twitter timeline was even more stiff and edgy than usual. So I almost never did to read other people’s tweets this evening.

The Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition of Belgium is currently being held, and two young Japanese pianists, Keigo Mukawa (務川慧悟) and Tomoki Sakata (阪田知樹), have been selected as finalists. Both Mukawa and Sakata are renowned and active in Japan. Many Japanese piano lovers had predicted before the competition that they would be selected as finalists. The Finals of the Queen Elisabeth Competition will be held from 24 to 29 May. The Laureates will be selected on 29 May, and the Laureates’ concerts and closing concert will be in the beginning of June. The competition will be live streamed on the internet and also available on-demand.

I post again some rose photos here.
The sky in Tokyo today was so grey, so I felt almost like the rainy season has started. Tomorrow can I see the blue sky?

Have a nice dream. Good night.

Wear a mask and wash your hands.
Stay safe and healthy 😊😷🖖🖖🖖🖖🖖
