Monday, 9 August 2021 – Until today, it was a long weekend

Good evening from Tokyo under the fourth time state of emergency.
Day 29.

It was a very rough weather day in Japan. In Tokyo, there was a heavy rain in the morning and a gusty afternoon. It was also very humid and hot. Tomorrow’s forecast is a midsummer horror story. According to the forecast, tomorrow the highest temperature in Tokyo will be 38Β°C and in some areas around Tokyo it may reach 40Β°C. Only just sitting in my room I’ll be boiling!

Until today, it was a long weekend for the sake of the Olympic Closing Ceremony. Tomorrow is a weekday, but Japan is now in the ‘Obon’ season, so a lot of people are on holiday. Before Corona pandemic, people used to travel all over the country to see their family and friends. Many people also travelled simply to enjoy their holiday. This summer, like last summer, the Government and local authorities are asking people not to move beyond the borders of their prefectures. A number of areas, including Tokyo, are still now under the declaration of the state of emergency.

I can’t go for a walk because it’s too hot. I post some photos of beautiful roses from May again.

Good night. Have a nice dream.

Wear a mask and wash your hands.
Stay safe and healthy πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜·πŸ––πŸ––πŸ––πŸ––πŸ––
