Sunday, 23 May 2021 – The air was very pleasant

Good evening from Tokyo under the third time state of emergency.
Day 29.

Contrary to my expectation, today the sky was blue. It was a nice weather day in Tokyo. High humidity but not too hot, the air was very pleasant. I should have gone and enjoyed my walking in the park, but I didn’t feel like it. I spent the day at home watching British mystery dramas and listening to music. Today I listened to the great works of Shostakovich, Prokofiev, Chopin, KodΓ‘ly, Clara Schumann and of course my dearest Robert Schumann on CD and internet radio.

I said CD, but it’s not ‘physical CD’. I own thousands of CDs, and I find time to import them into my iTunes. Not all of my CDs, but still many of them, are saved as data on my hard drive. Before, when I wanted to listen to music, I used to think about whether I had those CDs and then look around for them. Often I could not find them in my house, even though I remembered that I bought them. Now, I can easily find the CD which I want to listen to in the data which I have converted and imported into my iTunes. And I can listen to it immediately. I’m not talking about Apple Music. Of course, I can listen to music on my iTunes which is not available on Apple Music. I’m not an user of Apple Music. Apple Music has not the rare recordings, but I do. I’m an user of Spotify Premium, so I can enjoy it if I want to do. And of course, on this planet, there is my favourite YouTube. And then there are a lot of internet radio channels. It’s a wonderful age for music lovers. But for the record companies and the CD shops, it’s a hard time.

Good night. Have a beautiful dream!

Wear a mask and wash your hands.
