Monday, 3 May 2021 – Japan is still in the midst of the May holidays

Good evening from Tokyo under the third time state of emergency.
Day 9.

Japan is still in the midst of the May holidays. Today was Constitution Memorial Day. The Government, local authorities and media are warning people not to go out due to the rapid spread of the variant virus. Against the forecast, the blue sky appeared today. But the wind was strong and cool. Many people went out for recreation. I really wish that after 1-2 weeks the number of infections will not increase.

Today I stayed at home for the whole day, not because the Government asked, but because I don’t like to go out from home. If I go out, it’s only for concerts and walks in the park. I get bored with my local parks after the cherry blossoms. There are rose gardens, but I can only see the flowers from outside the fence.

I want to go to the big parks in the heart of Tokyo, the Daimyo Gardens (the feudal lords’ gardens) and the Imperial Palace Gardens. However, now the Daimyo Gardens and the Imperial Palace Gardens are closed to prevent the spread of infections. I can get into the big parks in the heart of Tokyo, but I don’t want to use public transport to go there. It’s said that the variant virus N501Y is nearly an airborne infection. And the deadly Indian variant has also invaded Tokyo. Eventually, the best way to spend time in this situation is to stay home, organising photos, watching British mystery dramas and reading books. Of course, I listened to a lot of Schumann today again.

Today’s photos are hydrangeas. I post 8 photos here. The first 2 photos were shot a few days ago on a walk in the neighbourhood. The buds had already appeared. Following them, 6 photos are of hydrangeas in the same place last year.

I’m surprised how fast the seasons change. I really wish the pandemic days would pass as quickly as the seasons do.

Have a nice dream. Good night.

Wear a mask and wash your hands.
Stay safe and healthy πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜·πŸ––πŸ––πŸ––πŸ––πŸ––
