Shibuya Station. The advertising copy on the wall, written in big letters in white on a black background, translates as “Still, music, can’t die.”

It’s a powerful message. It may be a cry from the hearts of the people gathered in Shibuya. Shibuya is one of the centers of all kinds of music. (It was Roland Barthes who wrote that there is no center in Tokyo, there is no beginning or end.)

The dogs in relief on the wall are Hachi (or Hachi-ko or Chuken-Hachi-ko) and its family. Definitely Hachi is the most famous dog in Japan. It’s the symbol of Shibuya.
