Today, 29 July, is the anniversary of the death of my dearest composer, Robert Schumann. This year marks the 165th anniversary of his death. My work has kept me so busy today, that I didn’t have much time to sit in my study and enjoy the music. Still, I listened to recordings of Schumann performed by my great favourite pianists. “Gesänge der Frühe, op. 133” performed by Mitsuko Uchida, Piano Quartet E-flat major, op. 47 performed by Glenn Gould with the Juilliard Quartet. And now I’m listening to Sergio Fiorentino’s marvelous Schumann album.
