Monday, 27 September 2021 – All the state of emergency will be lifted on 30 September

Day 78.

Finally, all the state of emergency and the semi-emergency spread prevention measures will be lifted on 30 September, the Japanese Government announced today. Restrictions on places where people gather and restaurants will continue to be enforced, but they will be a little more relaxed than before. The details of the new restrictions will be announced by the Government tomorrow.

Around 90% of people over aged 65 in Japan have been fully vaccinated. About 70% of people living in Japan have received at least one dose of vaccine. There is a light in the darkness now.
