Tuesday, 28 September 2021 – Mitsuko Uchida will be giving a recital in October

Good evening from Tokyo under the fourth time state of emergency.
Day 79.

All declarations of the state of emergency and the semi-emergency spread prevention measures for Covid-19 in Japan will be lifted at 24:00 on 30 September. In Tokyo, restrictions on restaurants and mass events will continue but they will be more relaxed than before.

This evening I heard that Mitsuko Uchida will be giving her recital in Kyoto next month. What a surprise, it will be her first recital in Kyoto for 38 years!
The programme for her recital is below.

Thursday, 21 October 2021, doors open at 18:30
Kyoto Concert Hall, Large Hall

– Schubert: Excerpts from Four Impromptus, op. 142, D935
– Beethoven: 33 Variations on a Waltz by Diabelli in C major, op. 120
