Saturday, 7 August 2021 – The Olympic Village ‘ruins’ of the 1964 Tokyo Olympics

Good evening from Tokyo under the fourth time state of emergency.
Day 27.

This evening I would like to show you the Olympic Village ‘ruins’ of the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. The photos in this and the following posts were taken by me on 20 February 2021 at the former Yoyogi Olympic Village in Yoyogi Park, a memorial to the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. The site was occupied by American Forces after the defeat in 1945. There was a small town built here for American Servicemen, called Washington Heights. The U.S. Military housing was converted to the Olympic athletes’ dormitories.

I’ve continued to call for the Olympics and Paralympics to be cancelled this summer. My opinion has not changed at all.
Currently, the medical system in Tokyo is collapsing due to the Delta variant virus.

Good night. Have a happy Sunday!

Wear a mask and wash your hands.
Stay safe and healthy πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜·πŸ––πŸ––πŸ––πŸ––πŸ––
