Wednesday, 21 April 2021 – Yamabuki and Kodemari
Good evening from Tokyo, where the Semi-emergency Spread Prevention Measures have been applied.
Day 10.
Today in Japan, it was almost summer heat. But the real summer in this country is a hell of humidity. In summer, too humid, it feels like going crazy. Yet at this time of year, the air is still very dry, so even when the temperature is high, it feels pleasant. It’s a lovely season. The forecast for tomorrow is much hotter than today.
It is certain that the third state of emergency will soon be declared in Tokyo and the Kansai area which are Osaka, Hyogo and Kyoto. A government decision is expected on the 23rd. The number of cases caused by several highly infectious variants of the virus has been rapidly spreading. These variants of the virus are causing severe symptoms in the younger generation. Osaka is on the verge of medical collapse and is in a crisis situation. In Japan, late April and early May is a long holiday season. Governors and the Japanese Government want to stop holidaymakers moving and travelling around so casually.
Today’s photos are from the park yesterday. They are the yellow flowers of the Yamabuki (山吹 Kerria japonica or Japanese rose) and the white flowers of the Kodemari (小手毬 Spiraea cantoniensis or Reeve’s spiraea). Now is the best season for them.
Have a nice dream. Good night.
Wear a mask and wash your hands.
Stay safe and healthy 😊😷🖖🖖🖖🖖🖖
