Friday, 3 September 2021 – I visited Nagoya in 2017
Good evening from Tokyo under the fourth time state of emergency.
Day 54.
Finally, the worst and most incompetent Japanese Prime Minister in the history of the nation has announced his resignation. He will leave his position at the end of this month. To begin with, he has no capacity and nature as a PM, so he shouldn’t have been one.
Tokyo has suddenly become cooler in the past few days. I said ‘cooler’ but rather I should say ‘colder’. The temperature is almost as high as October. The weather is not good, but I feel better than in extremely heatwave.
Yesterday I posted here some photos from my trip to Matsumoto, in September 2017. The day after listening to Beethoven’s Piano Concerto (Mitsuko Uchida, piano), I saw Matsumoto Castle.
After that, I visited Nagoya, a big city in the Tokai area, about two hours by train from Matsumoto. I saw the gigantic Nagoya Castle and listened to Mozart, Bach and Beethoven in the evening in Nagoya. The greatest pianist in Japan, Kei Itoh, performed with a very young violinist, Ayana Tsuji. In two days, in Matsumoto and Nagoya, I saw two castles, listened to Beethoven twice and two great pianists. It was a rich and interesting two days.
