About 30% of people over 65 aged living in Japan have received at least one shot of the Covid-19 vaccine. Tomorrow, the airline companies will start vaccinating their employees. From 21 June, other private companies and universities will also start vaccinating. These vaccinations will be given to office workers, their families, working contractors, students, teachers, and so on.
I haven’t got my vaccination yet. However, the progress of vaccination programmes in my ward has been unexpectedly fast, so I expect to be able to make my appointment for the vaccination soon. After making my appointment, it might be a few months before I could actually get the vaccination. Still, finally I can see a light of hope.
A few months ago, the Vaccine Minister Kono announced that the Government had secured the Pfizer vaccine in enough quantities to be used by the whole country (the population of Japan is about 125 million). However, yesterday he suddenly announced that the Pfizer vaccine will not arrive in time, so that the Moderna vaccine will also be used for the local government vaccination. I’ll recieve the vaccination in my local area. Which vaccine will be used for me?
