Saturday, 8 May 2021 – So much things are chaotic!

Good evening from Tokyo under the third time state of emergency.
Day 14.

Japan is as usual. The number of infections and deaths caused by the variant virus is rising. The PM stated at yesterday’s press conference that the Government is planning to vaccinate 1 million people a day. This is in order to complete the vaccination programme for all elderly people by the end of July. The mass vaccination centres will be opened in the middle of Tokyo and Osaka. It plans to use the Self-Defense Forces to give the vaccinations.

However, the Government’s programme under consideration is physically impossible to deliver and the private sector is making recommendations to change its approach. If it’s not a pandemic that Japan is fighting, but a massive disaster, one of the worst in the world, then everything will move miraculously quickly. I think everyone here knows it and believes it. But most people alive today have not experienced a pandemic since the Spanish flu 100 years ago. Because of the nation’s extreme difficulty in handling new happenings, the confused things happen on a daily basis. I can’t write about everything here. So much things are chaotic!

Recently I haven’t gone out for taking photos, so I have no new photos. Today I post here the flowers of Ipheion uniflorum. I took these on 30 March when the Yellow Sand covered Tokyo. Also today, the Yellow Sand has arrived. It’ll come flying here tomorrow too. It’s not good for shooting photos.

Have a beautiful Sunday!

Wear a mask and wash your hands.
Stay safe and healthy πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜·πŸ––πŸ––πŸ––πŸ––πŸ––
