Friday, 5 May 2023 – Kashiwa-mochi (oak rice cake)
These are Kashiwa-mochi (oak rice cake). Kashiwa-mochi is a traditional Japanese sweet, that is a rice cake wrapped in oak leaves. In this rice cake contains sweet azuki bean paste or sweet miso paste. In Japanese tradition, Kashiwa-mochi is eaten on 5 May, the day of the traditional festival called Tango-no-Sekku. Very delicious. Generally, we can eat it only at this season.
