Good evening from Tokyo under the fourth time state of emergency.
Day 73.
The Japanese Government has announced that the total number of doses of vaccine against Covid-19 has exceeded 150 million. Around 67% of the total population of 125 million people in Japan have received at least one dose of vaccine. About 35 million people living in Japan are aged over 65, and 90% of them have received at least one dose of vaccine. According to news reports, the Government will lift the state of emergency at the end of the month and is now considering how relax the restrictions after the lifting.
I think these are not good news. However, they are not bad news.
Tokyo was a hot and humid day, like summer had come back. The weather was nice and the sky was blue, but I wasn’t happy as I don’t like really hot weather. Tomorrow is Autumnal Equinox Day, a public holiday.
